Today, on 7th of June, Strelka Institute launches scholarships that will cover expenses for its first joint master’s programme with HSE Graduate School of Urbanism ‘Advanced Urban Design’. Three scholarships are granted to remarkable emerging leaders in the spheres of urban design and research to fully pursue a two-year study.
Strelka Institute CEO Varvara Melnikova says: “Supporting young professionals is a Institute’s priority. Education in Strelka Institute was always free. And we are happy that we can follow our tradition and give talented students the opportunity to experience the first English masters programme for urbanism in Russia regardless their material opportunities.”
The winners will be selected among the most prominent applicants on the basis of common admission process to the Advanced Urban Design master’s programme and a motivation letter for the scholarship. The winner will be chosen by the scholarship committee. The members of the committee are Grigory Revzin, architectural critic and KB Strelka partner, Alexei Novikov, Graduate School of Urbanism dean, Markus Schaefer, Vienna Academy of fine Arts professor and masters programme teacher, Cor Wagenaar, University of Groningen professor, Anastasia Smirnova, Advanced Urban Design programme director, and Denis Leontiev, KB Strelka CEO.

Announcement of the admission results and scholarship winners is on August 19, 2016. — Architect, designer, IdLab founder and tutor Stefano Mirti speaks about 'Storytelling in the era of quantum physics' and teaches participants of the workshop 'Storytelling 2.0' The sociocultural urbanism theorist Theo Deutinger holds on 'Decoding the streets' workshop;
— The founder of Hosoya Schaefer Architects Markus Schaefer will talk about the challenges cities face in a globalized world during the lecture ' Hot, crowded and spiky: cities in the era of globalization'.
