Competing with 119 offices from around the world, Russia’s leading urban consultancy firm has been awarded special mention in the Office category of LILA 2018.
The jury of the Landezine International Landscape Award described Moscow-based Strelka KB as a “bridge between Russian society and the global design profession.”
“Strelka KB is not defined by a unitary design vision but by a collective of hundreds of young professionals hungry to transform their city and country. In doing so they have managed to affect change to an extent never before seen in the design profession,” it said in a statement.
The jury included Thorbjörn Andersson, Kristine Jensen, Sylvia Karres, Jacqueline Osty, and Ken Smith.
The third edition of the Landezine International Landscape Award (LILA) has been broken down into three categories – Office Profile, Gardens, and Public Project. This year, 119 office projects, 249 public projects, and 44 garden projects were judged.
French landscape architecture firm Mosbach Paysagistes has been named the winner in the Office category. The best public project is the ‘Renaturation of the River Aire, Geneva’ by Atelier Descombes Rampini. The winner in the Garden category is ‘Lake Marion Private Retreat’ in the US by Coen+Partners.
The LILA 2018 award ceremony will take place at the Landezine LIVE event at HafenCity University in Hamburg on October 13.
